[HISTORY: Adopted by the Township Committee
of the Township of Sandyston 4-4-1974. Amendments noted where applicable.]
There is hereby created a commission to be known
and designated as the "Recreation Commission of the Township of Sandyston."
The Commission shall have the powers and authority
conferred by N.J.S.A. 40:61-17 to 40:61-22, both inclusive, and the
amendments and supplements thereto, and such other powers as are provided
by law.
A.Â
The Commission shall consist of three persons, residents
of the Township, who shall be appointed as Commissioners by the Sandyston
Township Committee. The Commissioners shall serve without compensation,
shall elect a Chairman and shall make such rules governing the conduct
of their affairs as they deem appropriate.
B.Â
Each Commissioner shall be deemed appointed as of
January 1 in each year of his appointment and shall serve for a term
of three years, except that of the Commissioners initially appointed,
one shall serve for a term of one year, one for a term of two years
and one for three years.
