[Adopted 2-2-1971 by L.L. No. 1-1971 (Ch. 4 of the 1976 Code)]
Pursuant to the provisions of § 1556 of the Real Property Tax Law,[1] the three offices of Assessors of the Town of Riverhead shall continue and shall be elective as provided by the law in effect immediately prior to the effective date of said § 1556.

This article shall be submitted for the approval of the electors of the Town of Riverhead at a special election to be held in accordance with the provisions of the Municipal Home Rule Law, except that such special election shall be held not later than July 1, 1971.
This article shall become effective on the 20th day after approval thereof by the electors of the Town of Riverhead at the special election specified in § 103-2 hereof and after filing and publication as required by said Municipal Home Rule Law.
