A fee of $28 shall be charged by the City of Long Branch for the processing
of a marriage license and civil union license application and issuing of a
marriage license and civil union license. Marriage license and civil union
license applications shall be processed and licenses shall be issued by the
City of Long Branch Department of Health.
The City of Long Branch shall retain $3, representing an administrative
fee, and shall remit the remaining $25 to the Department of Human Services
of the State of New Jersey as required by state law. Payment due to the State
of New Jersey shall be remitted on a quarterly basis. At the discretion of
the City of Long Branch, moneys retained prior to transmittal to the State
of New Jersey may be held in an interest bearing account.
The City of Long Branch shall submit quarterly reports on special forms
made available by the State of New Jersey indicating the number of licenses
issued during the quarterly time frame.
