GENERAL REFERENCES
Administration and enforcement of building and zoning codes — See Ch. 217.
Building construction — See Ch. 223.
Zoning — See Ch. 271.

Notwithstanding any other provisions of this Code, the following designated public officers are hereby authorized to issue appearance tickets, returnable in the local Village Court, pertaining to the enforcement of any local law, rule or regulation relating to parking, licensing of occupations or businesses, fire prevention and safety, health and sanitation and building, zoning and planning:
A. 
Village Clerk.
B. 
Deputy Village Clerk.
C. 
Code Enforcement Officer.
D. 
Village Building Inspector.
E. 
Any member of the Board of Trustees.
F. 
Any additional persons deputized by a resolution of the Board of Trustees.

The appearance ticket authorized herein shall be in the following form and content:

To:
You are hereby directed to appear at the Village Justice Court, Village of East Hills, 20 Town Path, East Hills, New York, 11576 at 8:30 p.m., on the _____ day of ______________ 20 _____, to answer a charge of violation of Chapter _____, Article _____, Section _____, of the Code of the Village of East Hills, specifically, ___________________________________________________________, committed on the _____ day of _____________ 20 ______, at ______ a.m./p.m., at _______________________________________________, (location)

I, the undersigned, do hereby acknowledge receipt of the above appearance ticket and agree to appear as indicated. I understand that failure to appear may result in a warrant being issued for my arrest.

The appearance ticket and the proceedings subsequent to the issuance and service of said ticket shall be governed by the provisions of Article 150 of the Criminal Procedure Law of the State of New York and the provisions of the Municipal Home Rule Law, Article 2, § 10, Subdivision 4(a).

Notwithstanding the above designations, any peace officer may be authorized to issue an appearance ticket or other legal process relating to the enforcement of any local law, rule or regulation affecting the public health, safety and welfare.
