It shall be unlawful for any person without a license previously issued by the Village to such person or to his or her employer or supervisor to install any electrical wiring or electrical fixtures or equipment in or upon any property, buildings or structures located in whole or in part within the Village, other than property, buildings or structures owned by such person.
A. 
No license shall be issued under this chapter unless and until the applicant therefor shall have demonstrated to the Village Clerk of the Village his or her fitness and ability to do and perform such work or installation.

B. 
A current existing certificate of competency issued by any governmental agency in the State of New York to the applicant for such license shall be deemed sufficient evidence of the fitness and ability of such applicant to obtain a Village license.
C. 
Evidence of worker's compensation, certificate of insurance and like standards is required prior to the issuance of a license.

The fee for a license required by this chapter and any renewal thereof shall be payable to the Village and shall be in such amount as provided for by resolution of the Village.[1]

Every license required by this chapter shall be in writing and shall be issued by the Village Clerk.
A license issued under this chapter shall be effective for a period specified herein not exceeding one year from the date thereof.
Every license issued under this chapter shall expire on December 31 of the calendar year in which issued.

A violation of this chapter shall, upon conviction, be punishable as provided in Chapter 1, General Provisions, Article III.
