Village of East Hills, NY Article III Unpaid Special Pickup Fees

§ 173-22 Intent and purpose.

The Board of Trustees of the Village of East Hills finds and declares that:

A. Unpaid special pickup fees are a burden upon the Village and the taxpayers thereof.

B. It is in the public interest for a mechanism to be established to address such unpaid pickup fees.

§ 173-23 Lien; administrative penalty; collection.

Any special pickup fee remaining unpaid for more than 90 days after issuance of a statement regarding the same shall become a lien against the real property for which the special pickup was provided. The Village Clerk shall cause to be placed on the next succeeding tax bill for the real property for which such special pickup was provided the amount of said statement, plus a fifty-dollar administrative penalty, all such amounts to be collected in like manner to Village property taxes.
