Editor's Note: This local law also stated
that “This local law shall take effect immediately upon the
expiration of thirty days after its adoption, provided that during
such period of time no petition for a referendum thereon is submitted
as provided in Village Law § 9-902, and if such petition
is filed, then immediately upon its adoption by affirmative vote of
a majority of the qualified electors voting at a referendum thereupon
held as required by law, and upon filing after either of such events
(whichever shall be applicable) pursuant to the Municipal Home Rule
Law."
Effective with the first Village election regularly
scheduled to be held after January 1, 1988, general elections for
the Village of North Hills shall be held on the third Tuesday in June.
The term of any Village officer whose successor
is scheduled to be selected on or after the date of the next general
Village election held after January 1, 1988, shall be extended until
the commencement of the official year next beginning after such election.
