[HISTORY: Adopted by the Township Committee (now the Township Council) of the Township of Saddle River (now the Township of Saddle Brook) 2-25-1949 by Ord. No. 312. Amendments noted where applicable.]
There is hereby established, as provided for by Chapter 264 of the Laws of 1948, as amended by Chapter 398 of the Laws of 1948,[1] the Municipal Court of the Township of Saddle Brook, in the County of Bergen.

The Municipal Court shall have a Judge, who shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of Council for a term of three years from the date of his appointment and until his successor is appointed and qualified, except that the present Recorder of the Recorder's Court of the Township of Saddle Brook, in the County of Bergen, pursuant to said Acts, shall become Judge of the Municipal Court hereby established and continue to be such Judge for a term equal to the balance of his then-existing term. The salary of the Judge shall be as provided from time to time in the Salary Ordinance of the Township.
The aforesaid Municipal Court shall in jurisdiction, authority, duties and practice conform to the practice, procedure and rules provided by the Revised Statutes and the rules promulgated by the Supreme Court of this state.

There is hereby created the office of Clerk of the Municipal Court of the Township of Saddle Brook, in the County of Bergen. The Clerk shall be appointed by the Township Council and shall hold office at the pleasure of the Council, but, unless sooner removed, shall hold office until January 1 succeeding the date of his appointment. The salary of the Clerk of the Municipal Court shall be as provided from time to time in the Salary Ordinance of the Township.
The said Municipal Court shall be held at the courtroom of said Township and at such other place or places in said Township as the Judge may order.
