The Board of Health shall consist of the members of the Township Council, the Township Clerk, the Township Assessor and one physician. The physician shall be appointed for a term of three years by the Township Council. Vacancy on the Board shall be filled by appointment for the unexpired portion of the term only.
A. 
The Board of Health shall have the power and authority to adopt ordinances relating to the protection of the health of Township residents, shall employ necessary personnel and shall have under its jurisdiction the Registrar of Vital Statistics, the Health Officer and such other employees necessary to carry out its duties.
B. 
The Board of Health shall have the jurisdiction conferred upon Boards of Health by Title 26 of the New Jersey Revised Statutes.
A. 
The Board of Health may appoint a local Registrar who, under the supervision and direction of the State Registrar, shall enforce the provisions of N.J.S.A. 26:6-1 et seq., and the vital statistics of all marriages, deaths and birth within his/her Registration District as prescribed by N.J.S.A. 26:8-24.
B. 
The appointment of a local Registrar shall be immediately certified to the State Department, but shall not become effective until 30 days from the date of filing the certificate, unless approved sooner, in writing, to the Department. If, within the 30 days, the Department shall disapprove of the appointment, the office shall be deemed vacant.
