Editor's Note: In addition to the Borough Planning Commission,
by Res. No. 19-60, adopted 11-9-1960, the Borough of West Chester, together
with several surrounding townships, created the West Chester Regional Planning
Commission, to furnish advice and service regarding matters of local and regional
planning. Also, by Res. No. 21-1969, adopted 10-8-1969, the Borough Council
appointed the Chester County representative on the Delaware Valley Regional
Planning Commission as the borough representative in matters pertaining to
transportation planning.
Pursuant to Act No. 247 of 1968, known as the "Pennsylvania Municipalities
Planning Code," as amended, supplemented and in effect,[1] there is hereby created a Borough Planning Commission, which shall
have all the powers and duties conferred upon it by law and other powers vested
in it by law or ordinance.

The Borough Planning Commission shall consist of seven (7) members.
The members shall be appointed by the Council and shall serve without compensation,
except that they shall be reimbursed for expenses incurred in carrying out
their Commission duties.
In addition to the powers and duties conferred upon said Commission
by law, the Borough Planning Commission shall make an annual report to the
Borough Council, showing its transactions and recommendations. Said report
shall review in substance all transactions and recommendations made during
the year, together with any new recommendations which the Commission might
wish to include.
