[Adopted as Ch. 50, Art. 50/I, of the 1976 Code]
No person shall be appointed to any board or commission in the City of Chicopee unless he is a resident of the City at the time of his appointment. If, after appointment, he ceases to be resident of the City, his office as a member or commissioner shall become vacant forthwith. Any vacancy in such board or commission brought about by the nonresidency of a member shall be filled for the unexpired term in the same manner as an original appointment. ("Residency" shall mean place of abode.)

All boards and commissions of the City of Chicopee are required to forward copies of the minutes of their meetings after each meeting to the City Council. (See Chapter 67, Article I.)

Mayoral appointments to various commissions and boards of the City, which appointments are subject to confirmation by the City Council, are to be made within 90 days from the date of expiration or vacancy.

A. 
No appointed board or commission shall hold its regular meetings or public hearings on the same dates the City Council meets (first and third Tuesdays of the month).

B. 
Penalties. Any action taken contrary to this article shall render those actions null and void.

Appointments to all boards, commissions and committees of all kinds shall be automatically extended on a temporary basis until such time as the incumbent is formally reappointed or until a successor is formally appointed.
