The purpose of this chapter is to establish a fee schedule for police escort services to be provided in connection with the transfer of cash or other valuables between places of business, residences and places of deposit in the Borough of Madison.
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
POLICE ESCORT SERVICES
Services provided by the Police of the Borough of Madison in connection with the transfer of cash and other valuables between places of business, residences and/or places of deposit within the borough. This phrase does not apply to escort services involving emergency services, parades, funerals, public events or other similar activities and services conducted by the Police Department of the Borough.

Prior to or immediately following the performance of any police escort services, the person or persons utilizing said police escort services shall pay to the borough a fee of $10 for each individual escort service provided.
Neither the borough nor its various departments shall assume any liability in connection with the provision of police escort services, and any person utilizing said services is hereby informed of this limitation on liability.
The provision of police escort services by the Police Department of the Borough of Madison shall be dependent upon the availability of police personnel and police resources, and it shall be within the sole discretion of the Department to determine whether said police escort services shall be conducted, deferred or refused.
