The City Council of the City of Saratoga Springs agrees to provide
a defense and indemnify its officers and employees in any state or
federal legal action arising out of any alleged act or omission which
occurred or allegedly occurred in the scope of official duty or public
employment and hereby authorizes the purchase of liability and public
officials' and employees' legal liability insurance to indemnify
all lawfully elected and appointed officials of the City of Saratoga
Springs, members of commissions and boards duly appointed by the City
of Saratoga Springs and all employees and persons who perform services
for the City of Saratoga Springs as volunteers, if such volunteers
are under the direction and control of the City of Saratoga Springs.
