This article is being enacted for the purpose
of:
A.
Preventing dangerous conditions on Township streets,
roads and other maintained public rights-of-way caused by snow, ice,
slush, sleet and other forms of frozen precipitation being removed
from private property or sidewalks and deposited on said Township
streets, roads and other maintained public rights-of-way; and
B.
The additional expense incurred by the Township in
removing said frozen precipitation, including but not limited to additional
and otherwise unnecessary snowplowing, salting and sanding.
It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to cause snow, ice, slush, sleet and other forms of frozen precipitation of any nature to be removed from private property and/or from sidewalks, as defined by Article III of this chapter, to any public streets, roads and other maintained public rights-of-way located and situate in the Township of Oxford.
Any person, firm or corporation violating any
of the provisions of this article shall be subject to one or more
of the following: imprisonment in the County Jail or in any other
place provided by the Township for the detention of prisoners for
any term not exceeding 90 days or by a fine not exceeding $1,000 or
by a period of community service not exceeding 90 days, to become
effective on the effective date of this article.
