City of Mount Vernon, NY Chapter 16 Continuity of Government

§ 16-1 Chain of command in event of emergency.

In the event of enemy attack, this City Council does hereby designate and establish as a definite succession or chain of command for emergency operation of the government of the City the following officials to head the City government in the event that the Mayor or the President of the City Council is not available for such purpose:

A. Senior City Councilman, as to length of service.

B. Next Senior City Councilman, as to length of service.

C. Next Senior City Councilman, as to length of service.

D. Junior City Councilman.

§ 16-2 When effective.

This chapter shall take effect immediately.
