The basic principle of this article is to reward City employees who have demonstrated outstanding performance in their work which may have enhanced the economy or efficiency of the operation of City government. Accordingly, this City elects to encourage and nourish such employee incentive by this additional article to Chapter 50 of the Code of the City of Mount Vernon.
Members of the Board shall consist of the Mayor, the Corporation
Counsel and a Councilman selected by the members of the Council.
The Board shall make rules and regulations to provide for the
rewarding of employees of the City.
The awards by the Board shall consist of additional personal
days off with pay not to exceed three days, and a photograph of said
employee with a citation of his or her accomplishment shall be placed
in a prominent place in the City Hall rotunda.
A copy of this article shall be conspicuously displayed by every
department head to disseminate its contents and purpose to all employees.
This article shall take effect immediately.
