Any person or corporation taking out plans and specifications prepared by any department of the City of Mount Vernon, New York, for the awarding of or entering into a contract for the performance of public work shall guarantee the safe return thereof by making a deposit of $100.

A. 
If a proposal duly submitted by any person or corporation making a deposit required by § 126-4 hereof is accompanied by a deposit of cash, certified check or bid bond in accordance with the requirements of § 74 of the City Charter, and such person or corporation returns said plans and specifications in good condition within 30 days following the award of the contract covered by such plans and specifications or the rejection of the proposal of such person or corporation, the full amount of such deposit for one copy of the plans and specifications less the actual cost of reproduction of the plans and specifications shall be returned to such person or corporation.
B. 
Full reimbursement in the amount of the amount of the deposit required by § 126-4 hereof less the actual cost of reproduction of the plans and specifications shall be made for the return of all other copies of the plans and specifications in good condition within 30 days following the award of the contract or rejection of bids covered by such plans and specifications.

Ordinance No. 83, adopted on March 26, 1952, and Ordinance No. 57, adopted on May 22, 1963, are hereby rescinded.
This article shall take effect upon its approval by the Board of Estimate and Contract.
