The Office of Township Auditor, heretofore established by the Township
Committee, is hereby created, continued and confirmed. The Township Auditor
shall be appointed by the Township Committee for a term of one year. Any vacancy
in such office occurring other than by expiration of term shall be filled
by the Township Committee for the unexpired portion of the term only.
The Township Auditor shall be a registered municipal accountant as required
by N.J.S.A. 40A:5-1 et seq. and shall prepare the Township's annual audit
as set forth in that statute. The Township Auditor shall perform such additional
auditing tasks as shall be assigned by the Township Committee or the Township
Administrator.
The Township Auditor shall receive compensation based upon a professional
services resolution adopted by the Township Committee and pursuant to budget
appropriations.
