The Police Department of the Borough of Edgewood shall consist of employees of the following classifications and not to exceed the number herein designated, namely:
A. 
Superintendent of Police.
B. 
Chief of Police.
C. 
Two Lieutenants.
D. 
Two Sergeants.
E. 
Eight full-time patrol officers.
F. 
Part-time patrol officers as necessary.
The said employees in the Police Department, as provided in § 49-1 of this article, shall receive such compensation for their services as Council shall from time to time prescribe.

For purposes of this article, "police vehicle" is defined as a vehicle owned by the Borough of Edgewood used exclusively for police purposes.
Pursuant to law established by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, only operators who have completed a statement of liability, been certified and have successfully passed the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's examination will be permitted to use the Mobile Police Computers.
