The planting of poplar trees within Latrobe, Pennsylvania, is hereby prohibited.
All poplar or any other kind of tree whatever interfering with sewers, water tables or streets shall, after due notice as contained in § 160-3 below, be cut down and removed.
It shall be the duty of the Code Enforcement Office to notify any owner of trees coming within the prohibition of § 160-2 above to cut down and remove the same within a reasonable time not to exceed two weeks, and upon failure of the property owner to remove said trees, it shall be the duty of the Code Enforcement Officer to order the trees to be cut down and removed and to recover the expenses of cutting down and removal from the property owner.
Latrobe shall have exclusive jurisdiction of the planting of all shade trees within Latrobe.
Hereafter, all shade or ornamental trees planted along the sidewalks shall be placed at least 25 feet apart and between the curb and the paved portion of the sidewalk. In all cases where any such trees are now or shall hereafter be planted at a less distance apart or at any other location, the redundant trees shall be subject to removal by order of the Code Enforcement Office, at the cost of the property owner, which costs shall be in addition to the penalty for violation as provided in § 160-8.
All trees growing upon or along any of the streets, alleys or sidewalks in Latrobe, any of the branches of which overhang the street, alley or sidewalk, shall be trimmed and kept trimmed so that all such branches shall have a minimum clearance of eight feet above the surface of the sidewalk and 14 feet above the surface of the street or alley. Upon failure of the owner of property upon which or upon the sidewalk abutting which such tree is planted to trim such tree or trees, after notice so to do, he shall be subject to the penalties in § 160-8. Furthermore, the Code Enforcement Office may cause such tree to be trimmed, and the cost of work shall be collected from such property owner as permitted by law.
The planting of willow trees along any street, roadway, alley or court or overhanging the same within the limits of Latrobe is hereby forbidden, and all such trees now growing or planted shall be removed by the owner upon 10 days' notice from the Code Enforcement Officer, in writing.

Any person or persons, firm or corporation who or which shall violate any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $600 for each offense, together with costs of prosecution, or, in default of payment of such fine and costs, to undergo imprisonment for not more than 30 days, provided that each day that the violation of any provision of this chapter shall continue shall be deemed a separate offense. Such fine and penalty shall be in addition to any other penalty imposed under this chapter.
