From the first day of the month immediately following the date of the passage of this chapter, all coin-operated laundromats and the buildings in which the same are housed shall be closed to the public and business visitors at 10:30 p.m. and shall remain closed until 7:00 a.m. the following day.
In lieu of closing at the hour indicated in § 205-1 above, an owner or operator of the laundromat may remain open during the stated hours if a full-time supervisor is maintained on the premises to oversee the operation of the coin-operated laundromat from 10:30 p.m. until 7:00 a.m. the following morning, provided that the owner or operator shall notify the Police Department of the intention to remain open in accordance with this section and shall supply the Police Department with the name or names of the supervisor.

Any owner or operator who shall violate any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $600 and costs of prosecution or, in default of payment of such fine and costs, to undergo imprisonment for not more than 30 days, provided that each day's failure to comply with the terms of this chapter shall constitute a separate offense.
