The office of the Zoning Officer of the Borough of Alpha is hereby created.
Appointments to the office of the Zoning Officer shall be made by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Council. The term of office shall be one year, but the first term shall commence upon the effective date of this chapter and shall expire December 31 of the same year. Thereafter, every appointment shall be made for the calendar year. A vacancy for the office shall be filled for the unexpired term only.
The Zoning Officer shall:
A. 
Enforce Chapter 410, Zoning, of the Code of the Borough of Alpha and have all the powers, functions and duties prescribed by general law and ordinances, and as further provided in Chapter 410, Zoning.
B. 
Keep a record of his proceedings and a permit book and complaint book, all of which shall be subject to inspection; report monthly to the Council the number of zoning permits issued and the fees received and paid by him to the Treasurer.
C. 
Remit to the Treasurer within 48 hours from the receipt thereof all fees received by him as Zoning Officer.
