A.
Penalties for parking offenses.
(1)
Notwithstanding any contrary provision, the violation
of any law, rule or regulation within this chapter governing parking shall
be punishable by a fine of $20 if paid within 30 days of issuance.
(2)
For each 30 days that a fine for a violation is not paid,
there shall be imposed an additional penalty of $5, to a maximum of $50.
B.
Penalties for other offenses. Each person convicted of
a violation of any provision of this chapter not otherwise proscribed by the
Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York shall, following conviction
for a first offense, be subject to a fine of not more than $50 or imprisonment
for not more than 15 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment; a second
conviction for a violation of this chapter not otherwise proscribed by the
Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York within 18 months after a
first conviction shall be punishable by a fine of not more than $100 or by
imprisonment for not more than 45 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment;
a third or subsequent conviction within 18 months after the first conviction
for a violation of this chapter not otherwise proscribed by the Vehicle and
Traffic Law of the State of New York shall be punishable by a fine of not
more than $250 or by imprisonment for not more than 90 days, or by both such
fine and imprisonment.
