The Mayor shall designate a Fair Housing Officer to be responsible for implementing this plan.[2]

The Fair Housing Officer is charged with the following responsibilities:
A. 
To become knowledgeable in the fair housing provisions of federal, state and local laws.
B. 
To conduct an analysis of barriers to equal housing opportunity (as per 24 CFR 570.904).
C. 
To develop a strategy to overcome any barriers.
D. 
To review local policy for its impact on housing choice.
E. 
To compile fair housing information and make it available to any interested persons.
F. 
To disseminate information and answer questions relating to fair housing laws.
G. 
To assist aggrieved persons.
H. 
To refer discrimination complaints to appropriate federal or state agencies.
I. 
To maintain a record of actions taken pursuant to this plan.
J. 
This plan and related documents shall be posted at the Village of Penn Yan, Village Hall, 3 Maiden Lane, Penn Yan, N.Y., 14527.
The Village of Penn Yan will advertise this plan, monthly, in the local media.
