[HISTORY: Adopted by the Council of the City of Rye 2-4-1942 as Sections 5-5.2 and 5-5.3 of Ch. 5 of the General Ordinances. Amendments noted where applicable.]
It shall be unlawful for any person to permit or allow a discarded refrigerator or one not in use to remain in any place in the City of Rye accessible to children unless the latching or locking mechanism on the door or doors of the same has been removed or unless the door or doors of the same are bolted and locked in such a manner that it is impossible to open the same by use of the hands.
Any person who shall violate the provisions of § 149-1 hereof shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and shall, upon conviction, be fined in a sum not to exceed $50 or be imprisoned for not more than 10 days, or both.
