A. 
Every person employed by the Borough of Bradley Beach and/or engaged in or participating in the supervision of children who are participating in the recreation programs sponsored by the Borough of Bradley Beach shall be subject to verification of identification and/or screening by the Borough.
B. 
Such screening may include but not be limited to the following steps:
(1) 
Fingerprinting;
(2) 
Review of past and/or pending criminal convictions;
(3) 
Directing inquiry to the statewide central register of child abuse and maltreatment;
(4) 
Requiring appropriate documentation and verification of identification;
(5) 
Directing inquiry into references and/or past employers.
The Chief of Police or his designee is authorized to submit applicant fingerprint cards and receive state criminal history record information from the State Police, State Bureau of Identification, FBI or Office of Homeland Security for use in considering persons covered by this article. All records checked may be subject to the state's required user fee which shall not be paid by the applicant but be paid by or on the behalf of the Borough.

Nothing in this article shall operate to impose any liability on the Borough arising out of the Borough's actions involving the manner and/or degree of screening participants in the youth programs.
