[Adopted 6-25-1975 by Ord. No. 1975:269 (Ch. 61 of the 1967 Code)]
There shall be annually appointed, in accordance with the statutes of the State of New Jersey, the following officers: Borough Treasurer, Borough Attorney, Borough Engineer and Borough Auditor.
Such officers shall perform the duties required by law and ordinances of the Borough of Closter, as well as all such duties customarily performed in connection with such offices and as assigned by the Mayor and Council.
The person appointed to such office shall serve at the pleasure of the Mayor and Council and unless sooner removed shall hold office until his or her successor has been appointed and qualified.
In compensation for the services rendered by the holders of such offices, they shall be paid according to the compensation provided for in the Annual Salary Ordinance for the Borough of Closter.[1]

None of the holders of said offices, the Health Officer or the attorneys, engineers, auditors or professional advisors or consultants to any boards or agencies of the Borough of Closter shall be required to be residents of the Borough of Closter.
