[HISTORY: Adopted by the Council of the City of Beacon 1-17-1972 as Art. II of Ch. 7 of the 1972 Code of Ordinances. Amendments noted where applicable.]

This chapter shall not apply to sales by religious, educational, musical, charitable and local associations, nor to legal sales by referees, sheriffs and constables, nor to the Volunteer Fire Department of the City, nor to sales by receivers or assignees of real or personal property belonging to judgment debtors or assignors, who shall have been actual residents of the City for at least six months prior to such sales.
Any person, partnership, corporation or association violating any provision of this chapter shall be punished as prescribed in § 1-3.

No person shall exhibit for sale or sell any goods, wares or merchandise in the City at public auction or sell by bid without a license so to do, duly issued by the City Clerk.

The license fee for the sale of goods, wares or merchandise in the City of Beacon shall be as set forth in the City of Beacon fee schedule.[1]

All licenses issued under the provisions of this article shall expire on the 31st day of December in each and every year.
