Chief of Police.
(2) 
Captain (when position is created).
(3) 
Lieutenant.
(4) 
Detective.
(5) 
Patrolman.
(6) 
Police dispatcher.
(7) 
Civilian personnel.

Seniority is determined as follows: first, by rank; second, by continuous service in rank; third, by date of appointment to previous rank; fourth, by date of appointment to Department; and fifth, by highest score on Civil Service List from which appointments were made.
