Pursuant to New York Real Property Tax Law § 328, there shall be a single appointed Assessor for the Town of Holland effective January 1, 2012. The appointment of the Assessor shall be made by the Town Board of the Town of Holland under the authority granted to it by the referenced statute.
The terms of office for the present two elected Assessors for the Town of Holland shall terminate on December 31, 2011.
The term of office for the initial appointed Assessor shall be for the period of January 1, 2012, through September 30, 2013, based upon the appointment terms of appointed Assessors as set forth in Real Property Tax Law § 328.
Commencing October 1, 2013, the term for the appointed Assessor shall be six years, commencing October 1 and terminating on September 30 as set forth in § 328 of the Real Property Tax Law.
