RHODE ISLAND GENERAL LAWS (AS AMENDED)
Outdoor advertising — See § 5-18-1 et seq.
All persons are hereby prohibited from posting or painting advertisements of any kind on any buildings or fences or on any fences, posts, trees or rocks in the highways belonging to or under control of the Town, except on billboards provided by the Town for specific purposes.
Permission for the use of billboards provided by the Town shall be given to any resident of the Town or to any society or organization of the Town for the advertisement of any meeting or entertainment but not for personal business purposes, except by consent of the Town Council.
Any person violating this chapter shall be subject to a fine of $1 and costs for the first offense, and for every subsequent offense shall be fined $10 and costs.
