Unless prior written approval is obtained by the City Manager of the City of Brigantine, the placement of any and all signs within the jurisdiction of the City of Brigantine along the public right-of-way from the foot of the Justice Vincent S. Haneman Memorial Bridge to the southernmost section of the sidewalk at the Lighthouse Circle is hereby prohibited. Said prohibition of signs is not limited to but includes the prohibition against any signs of service organizations who wish to advertise said service organizations' particular functions and any signs placed by any political party or candidate along Atlantic-Brigantine Boulevard.
Notwithstanding anything otherwise contained in this article, the intention of this article is not to prohibit any signs erected by the City of Brigantine which would welcome residents to said community.
Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this article, it is not the intention of this article to make illegal any sign currently existing which has received the appropriate and required approvals by either the City of Brigantine Zoning Board or Planning Board. Likewise, notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this article, it is the intention of this article not to prohibit any signs which in the future may be approved by the Planning Board and/or Zoning Board of the City of Brigantine.
