As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings
indicated:
The Chief of the Fire Department of the township.
The Fire Department of the township.
All regular and probationary members of the Fire Department of the
township irrespective of rank or duty.
A member of the Department of the rank of Lieutenant or higher.
The Physician appointed by the township.
All members of the Fire Department irrespective of rank or duty,
except probationary fire fighters.
The administrative rules and regulations promulgated by the Township
Manager as provided in this article.
The Township Manager of the Township of Montclair.[1]
The Township Manager shall, from time to time, promulgate rules and regulations in the manner provided in § 27-3. They shall provide in detail for the management, operation and conduct of the Fire Department and its members and shall implement the provisions of this chapter. The rules and regulations so promulgated shall be binding on the Fire Department and its members equally with the provisions of this chapter.
The rules and regulations promulgated by the Township Manager on November
25, 1952, as amended and supplemented, are continued in full force and effect
and shall be deemed to implement this chapter. The Township Manager may amend
or repeal all or any part of such rules and regulations or may make and establish
such new or additional rules and regulations as may be expedient and proper
for the better conduct, efficiency or management of the Department.
It shall be the duty of every member of the Department to familiarize
himself or herself with this chapter and with the rules and regulations, together
with any changes, additions or amendments thereof. For that purpose, a copy
of this chapter and of the rules and regulations in printed form shall be
issued to each member of the Department.
