The purpose of this article is to permit the Town of Corinth, New York, to change to a single appointed assessor from and after July 30, 2001, pursuant to § 328 of the Real Property Tax Law of the State of New York.
Pursuant to the authority granted under § 328 of the Real Property Tax Law, the positions of elected assessors in the Town of Corinth are hereby abolished, effective July 30, 2001, and from and after said date there shall be one appointed assessor for the Town of Corinth, New York, who shall be appointed by the Town Board of Corinth, New York.
The term of office of the single appointed assessor shall be six years.
The term or terms of office of all assessors of the Town of Corinth, New York, who are presently in office or in office as of July 30, 2001, shall terminate as of July 30, 2001. The salaries of all assessors of the Town of Corinth, New York, who are presently in office or in office as of July 30, 2001, shall terminate on July 30, 2001.
