[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Hempstead 6-6-1989 by L.L. No. 5-1989. Amendments noted where applicable.]

A Codes Review Board is hereby established by the Village.
Purposes of the Codes Review Board shall be:
A. 
To provide for uniformity in the provisions of the Village Code.
B. 
To facilitate the harmonious interaction of various departments charged with code enforcement authority.

A. 
Appointment of members. The Codes Review Board shall consist of seven members, five Village employees and two Village residents, to be appointed by the Mayor of the Village of Hempstead and approved by the Board of Trustees. A Chairman shall be designated who shall be the executive and administrative officer of said Board and shall be subject to the supervision and control of the Board of Trustees.

B. 
Members shall serve for a two-year term. Vacancies occurring other than by the expiration of terms of office shall be filled for the unexpired terms of office.

The Codes Review Board shall hold meetings, and written minutes of such meetings shall be kept and maintained and copies promptly furnished to the Village Clerk. The public at large shall be encouraged to attend meetings and make recommendations. Recommendations of the Codes Review Board shall be formally presented to the Mayor and the Board of Trustees for consideration by resolution.[1]
