A.
The officers of this Company shall be President, Vice
President, Treasurer/Financial Secretary, Recording Secretary, Corresponding
Secretary, Chaplain and three Trustees to be known as "civil officers."
Also, a Chief, First Assistant, Second Assistant, Captain, First Lieutenant
and Second Lieutenant to be known as "line officers."
B.
There also shall be one Captain and two Lieutenants
for the Mombasha Fire Company Fire Police. These officers for the
Fire Police will be elected from within their own ranks at a special
meeting which follows directly after the annual meeting.

A.
The term of office of each officer shall be one year
from the date of the annual meeting in April, with the exception of
the Trustees who are elected for three-year terms. A vacancy in any
office shall be filled by election at any regular meeting. The term
of any officer not elected at the annual meeting shall expire at the
annual meeting succeeding his/her election.
B.
Any candidate proposed, by the Nominating Committee,
for an election position must be in good standing at the annual review
of all active members.[1] A member in the position of Trustee shall be reviewed
each year. Any Trustee found to be not in good standing at the time
of review shall be removed from his position. The remaining portion
of this Trustee's term shall be considered vacant and available at
the next annual election.

Based on a yearly review of mandatory requirements as stated in these bylaws, a member in good standing is one who has met or exceeded all requirements as per Article VI, § 15-32 for active members and Article III, § 15-16B for civil members.
The period of review by the Executive Board
will be based on a normal calendar year January 1 to December 31.
A member not in good standing at time of review
will not be eligible to take part in Fire Company activities in the
upcoming year, such as elections, social functions and sponsorship
of new members.
The line, civil and the house officers shall
be chosen from among the active members.

The newly elected officers for the Company will
take office officially upon swearing in at the night of the annual
meeting.
A.
Eligibility to become Chief.
(1)
No member can be elected Chief or Assistant Chief
unless he/she has completed at least five years continuous service
as an active member in good standing at the time of nomination. A
candidate for the position of Chief must be a resident within a five-mile
radius of the main firehouse, located on Route 17M, as shown on the
enclosed map in the back of these bylaws.[1] No member can be elected Chief or Assistant Chief unless
he/she has served as Lieutenant for a period of one year and the position
of Captain for a period of one year or has served as a former Chief
of this Company. (NOTE: Must have served as Chief, not Assistant Chief.)

Candidate must have successfully completed courses
in (Essentials) or Basic Firefighter, Pump Operator, Initial Fire
Attack, Fire Officer Management Course and be qualified to drive and
operate all equipment. The term of office of the Chief of the Mombasha
Fire Company, Inc. shall be restricted to four consecutive one-year
terms.

Eligibility to become Line Officer.

No member can be elected Lieutenant unless he/she
has been a continuous active member for a period of three years in
good standing at the time of nomination and has taken (Essentials)
or Basic Firefighter. A candidate for the position of Lieutenant must
be a resident within a five-mile radius of the Main Firehouse, located
on Route 17M, as shown on the enclosed map in the back of these bylaws.[2]

No member can be elected Captain unless he/she has
been a Lieutenant for a period of one year and has taken Essentials
of Firemanship and Pump Operation. A candidate for the position of
Captain must be a resident within a five-mile radius of the Main Firehouse,
located on Route 17M as shown on the enclosed map in the back of these
