Village of Sea Cliff, NY Article V Construction of Sidewalks, Drains, Curbs, Gutters and Curb Cuts

§ 110-16 Permit required.

A. No person shall construct any sidewalk, drain, curb, gutter or curb cut in or upon any street or public place in the Village of Sea Cliff without first obtaining a permit therefor.

B. The fee for such permit shall be as set forth in Appendix Chapter A142, Schedule of Fees. Such fee shall accompany each application, which shall be in writing and shall be filed with the Building Inspector. The form for such application shall be as prescribed by the Building Inspector.

C. No person shall lead water or cause it to run over or upon any sidewalk, except through a covered gutter or pipe or into a drain. No such gutter, pipe or drain shall be erected or maintained in or upon any sidewalk or public place in the Village without first obtaining a permit therefor.

§ 110-17 Standards and conditions.

A. The Building Inspector is hereby authorized to promulgate standards and conditions for sidewalk, drain, curb, gutter and curb cut construction. Such standards and conditions, and any amendments thereto, shall be subject to approval by the Board of Trustees and, once approved, shall be made a part of this Code with the same force and effect as all other laws of the Incorporated Village of Sea Cliff.[1]

B. Sidewalks, curbs, drains and gutters shall be required as determined by the Planning Board during site plan review.[2]

C. On state and county roads, approval of the appropriate authority, if required, must be presented before a permit will be issued for a curb cut.
