As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
PISTOLS AND RIFLES
The same meaning ascribed to them in the Penal Code of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
PERSON
Every natural person, copartnership, association, club or organization. Whenever used in any clause prescribing and imposing penalties, the term "person," as applied to associations, shall mean the partners or members thereof and, as applied to corporations, the officers thereof.
For the purpose of securing the personal safety and property of residents of the Borough of Economy and in order to avoid danger to the life and limb of said residents and to protect said residents from offensive noises, it shall hereafter be unlawful for any person to maintain or establish in the Borough of Economy, an area devoted to hunting or sporting association activities, including target practice, rifle ranges, skeet shooting and other similar activities involving the discharge of pistols, rifles or other firearms, where said areas are situate in residential neighborhoods or within one mile from a residential neighborhood, dwelling, school, places of public assembly or any public or private roadway or within five miles from any other sporting or shooting association area.

Any person violating the provisions of this chapter, upon summary conviction, shall be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $300 and, in default of payment of such fine and costs, to undergo imprisonment in the county jail for not more than 90 days. Each day's violation shall constitute a separate offense hereunder.
This chapter shall apply to hunting or sportsmen's clubs or associations presently in existence and operation.
