The Department of Public Works is hereby created
under the authority of Section 1 of Chapter VI of the Town Charter.
The Department of Public Works shall be headed
by a Director of Public Works, who shall be appointed by and responsible
to the Town Manager. If so required by the Town Manager, the Director
of Public Works or his or her designee may serve as Tree Warden for
the Town, with power to enforce all statutes relating to the duties
of that office.
The Department of Public Works shall include,
unless otherwise directed by the Town Manager, the following divisions:
The Department of Public Works shall be responsible
for the repairing, maintaining and cleaning of streets and sewers,
for the maintenance and repair of Town vehicles and equipment and
for sanitation services.
