Pursuant to the provisions of C.G.S. §§ 7-147a to 7-147k, as amended, there are hereby created historic districts within the Town of West Hartford.
It is the purpose of this article to protect the heritage, aesthetic quality and character of the Town of West Hartford and to promote the educational, cultural, economic and general welfare of the Town through the preservation and protection of buildings and places within districts of historical and architectural interest.

A. 
Buena Vista Historic District.
(1) 
The boundaries of the Buena Vista Historic District are hereby established as shown on the map entitled "Buena Vista Historic District, Town of West Hartford," which map is attached to and is hereby made a part of this article,[1] said boundaries being more particularly described as follows: Beginning at a point in the center line of Mountain Road, which point marks the intersection of said center line and the easterly projection of the northerly property line of land now or formerly of William J. Carson, Jr., and H. Nancy Carson (99 Mountain Road); thence proceeding southerly and southeasterly along the center line of said Mountain Road, which center line becomes the center line of Sedgwick Road, a distance of 660 feet, more or less, to a point which point marks the intersection of the center lines of Sedgwick Road and Buena Vista Road; thence proceeding northwesterly along the center line of Buena Vista Road a distance of 310 feet, more or less, to a point, which point marks the intersection of the center lines of Buena Vista Road and Mountain Road; thence proceeding southerly along the center line of Mountain Road a distance of 170 feet, more or less, to a point which marks the intersection of said center line of Mountain Road and the easterly projection of the southerly property line of land now or formerly of Frances G. Sterling (11 Buena Vista Road); thence proceeding westerly along the projection of said southerly property line to a point which marks the southeast corner of land of said Sterling; thence continuing westerly along the southerly property line of land of said Sterling a distance of 69.97 feet, more or less, to a point; thence continuing westerly along the southerly property line of land now or formerly of William B. Wassell and June B. Wassell (15 Buena Vista Road) a distance of 74.70 feet, more or less, to a point; thence continuing along the southerly property line of land now or formerly of Marshall Banever and Elizabeth Banever (17 Buena Vista Road) a distance of 70 feet, more or less, to a point in the easterly property line of land now or formerly of Robert W. Butler and Barbara S. Butler (21 Buena Vista Road); thence proceeding along said easterly property line of land of said Butlers a distance of 250.84 feet, more or less, to a point which marks the southeast corner of land of said Butlers; thence proceeding southwesterly along the southerly property line of land of said Butlers a distance of 78.4 feet, more or less, to a point; thence continuing southwesterly along the southerly property line of land now or formerly of Thomas Owens a distance of 118.5 feet, more or less, to a point; thence proceeding southwesterly along the southerly property line of land now or formerly of the Town of West Hartford a distance of 282.37 feet, more or less, to a point; thence proceeding southwesterly along the southeasterly property line of said land of the Town of West Hartford a distance of 200.74 feet, more or less, to a point; thence proceeding westerly along the westerly projection of the southerly property line of land now or formerly of Kenneth Wright and Dorothy R. Wright (53 Briarwood Road) a distance of 168 feet, more or less, to a point which marks the intersection of said westerly projection of said southerly property line and the easterly line of a right-of-way in favor of Farmington Power Co.; thence proceeding northerly along the easterly line of said right-of-way a distance of 707 feet, more or less, to a point which marks the intersection of said easterly line of said right-of-way and the center line of Buena Vista Road; thence proceeding easterly along the center line of said Buena Vista Road a distance of 645 feet, more or less, to a point which marks the intersection of said center line and the southerly projection of the westerly property line of land now or formerly of Urbane O. Hennen and Rita D. Beginning at a point in the center line of Mountain Road which point is formed by the easterly projection of the northerly boundary line of property No. 99 Mountain Road and the center line of Mountain Road. Thence northerly along the center line of Mountain Road 271 feet, plus or minus, to a point, which point is the westerly projection of the northerly boundary line of property No. 112 Mountain Road. Thence easterly along the northerly boundary line of property No. 112 Mountain Road 371 feet, plus or minus, to a point, which point marks the northeast corner of property No. 112 Mountain Road. Thence southerly along the easterly boundary line of No. 112 Mountain Road 113 feet, plus or minus, to a point, which marks the southeast corner of property No. 112 Mountain Road. Thence westerly along the southerly boundary line of No. 112 Mountain Road 220 feet, plus or minus, to a point, which point marks the northwest corner of property No. 10 Hedwig Court. Thence southerly along the westerly boundary line of No. 10 Hedwig Court and the easterly boundary line of No. 106 Mountain Road 100.5 feet, plus or minus, to a point, which point is an angle point in the westerly boundary line of No. 10 Hedwig Court, and the northeast corner of property No. 6 Hedwig Court. Thence southerly continuing along the westerly line of No. 10 Hedwig Court 69.5 feet, plus or minus, to a point in the street line of Hedwig Court and being the southwest corner of property No. 10 Hedwig Court. Thence in a southeasterly direction across Hedwig Court to a point in the south street line of Hedwig Court, which point marks the northwest corner of property No. 7 Hedwig Court and the northeast corner of property No. 98 Mountain Road. Thence southerly along the westerly line of property No. 7 Hedwig Court 127.7 feet, plus or minus, to a point, which point marks the southwest corner of property No. 7 Hedwig Court.
