No person shall sell, keep or cause to be sold or kept any firecrackers or fireworks of any kind within the limits of the Borough of Eatontown in violation of the provisions of this chapter as hereinafter set forth.
It shall not be lawful to sell firecrackers or fireworks of any kind unless said vendor shall first have procured a permit from the Building Inspector so to do, said permit to be issued only on a license fee of $5, and shall entitle the vendor to sell firecrackers or fireworks during the period from July 1 to July 5, both dates included, of the year in which said permit is issued.
Any person violating the regulations hereinafter set forth governing the sale of firecrackers and fireworks, as aforesaid, shall forfeit the permit granted:
A. 
Smoking is prohibited in any store or place where fireworks of any kind shall be offered for sale, and signs to that effect in letters at least five inches high shall be prominently displayed.
B. 
Sand or water shall be kept in buckets or pails convenient for quick use in case of fire.
C. 
Matches shall not be kept or sold in any place where fireworks are offered for sale.
D. 
In any place where fireworks shall be sold, the same shall be kept remote from any fire, open flame or the rays of the sun, and shall, so far as possible, be kept in tin or other metal receptacles.
Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall, in addition to the forfeiture of permit as hereinbefore provided, pay upon conviction a fine of $10 for each and every offense.
