The qualifications, powers and duties of election officials, the preparation, form and distribution of ballots, the method of voting and the procedure for ascertaining and certifying the result shall be the same as that prescribed for general elections by the Wisconsin Statutes, except as hereinafter provided in this chapter.
Regular municipal elections shall be held on the first Tuesday of April in each year.
Special elections shall be held according to law at such time and place as the Village Board shall designate.
The elective officers of the Village shall be the President, six Trustees and the Municipal Judge.

The terms of office of the President and Trustees shall be three years, with two Trustees being elected annually. The term of office of the Municipal Judge shall be four years.
A vacancy in any elective office shall be filled in accordance with the provisions of state law.

All persons who are United States citizens, 18 years or older, and who have been bona fide residents of the Village of Shorewood for 28 days preceding a municipal election therein, and who are otherwise qualified under the Constitution and the Wisconsin Statutes, shall be entitled to vote at any municipal election held in the Village.
