A. 
Every person elected and every head of an office or department in this Village shall, within five days after notice of his election or appointment and before he shall enter upon the duties of his office, take and subscribe to the oath of office. This oath may be taken before any person authorized by law to administer oaths or before the Clerk of this Village: "I, A. B., do solemnly swear (or affirm, as the case may be) that I will support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Wisconsin, and that I will faithfully discharge the duties of the office of _______ of the Village of Shorewood to the best of my skill and judgment, so help me God."[1]

B. 
Every oath of office, with the certificate of the officer administering the same, shall be filed, recorded and preserved in the office of the Clerk of the Village of Shorewood.
