The Town of Wilton, acting hereby its Town Meeting,
and the City of Norwalk, acting herein by its Common Council, and
pursuant to Connecticut General Statutes Section 7-330, hereby vote
to form and join a municipal district known as the "Norwalk-Wilton
Convention and Visitor's Commission and District", for the purpose
of establishing a convention and visitor's commission pursuant to
Connecticut General Statutes 7-136a(c), as amended.
A.Â
The affairs of the District and Commission shall be
managed by two members from Norwalk, nominated by the Mayor and appointed
by the Common Council, and two members from Wilton, appointed by the
Board of Selectmen. Each town shall be entitled to one additional
member for each additional 5,000 population or part thereof over a
base population of 5,000.
B.Â
The Board shall, at its first meeting, determine by
lot which members shall serve for one, two or three years, provided
that the terms of office of not more than 50% of the Board shall expire
in any one year. Thereafter the terms of office shall be for three
years.
C.Â
Such Board shall choose by ballot from its members
a Chairman, a Secretary and a Treasurer. Such Treasurer shall give
bond to the Board to the satisfaction of its members, and the cost
of such bond is to be borne by the Board.
