The City Solicitor of the City of Egg Harbor shall be appointed by the Common Council for a term of one year, pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 40A:9-139.

The salary for the City Solicitor shall be as set forth in the Salary Ordinance.[1]

It shall be the duty of said City Solicitor to attend all regular meetings of the Common Council and, when notified to do so, to be present at special meetings of said Common Council. He/she shall draw up all ordinances, resolutions and contracts and shall, from time to time, give his/her opinion on all questions of law which may be submitted to him/her by the Common Council and the officials of the city, and shall also, when called upon, advise the members of Common Council and other City officials in regard to their rights and duties.
