[Adopted 11-14-1974 as Ch. 3, Art. IV, of the 1974 Code]
There are hereby established in the City of Egg Harbor City the following positions and employments, with the duties thereof as hereinafter stated:
A. 
Assistant Tax Collector, whose duties shall be to assist the Tax Collector in the performance of his/her duties under and subject to his/her direction and, during his/her absence or disability, to perform those duties ordinarily performed by the Tax Collector.
B. 
Tax Clerk, whose duties shall be to assist the Tax Collector in the work of the Tax Office, under and subject to the Tax Collector's direction.
C. 
Police-Call Dispatcher, whose duties shall be to operate the communication system in the Tri-Community Communications Office, pursuant to the agreement entered into among Egg Harbor City, Hamilton Township and Galloway Township.
D. 
Water Superintendent, whose duties shall be to operate and manage the municipal water plant and system, under and subject to the control and direction of the Utility Committee of Common Council.
E. 
Assistant Water Superintendent, whose duties shall be to assist in the operation and management of the municipal water plant and system, under and subject to the direction of the Water Superintendent and of the Utility Committee of Common Council and, during the absence or disability of the Water Superintendent, to perform his/her duties so far as permitted by law.
F. 
Water Repairer, whose duties shall be to perform such work in connection with the maintenance of the municipal water plant and system as shall be assigned to him/her by the Water Superintendent and the Utility Committee of Common Council.[1]

G. 
Superintendent of Public Works, whose duties shall be to supervise the maintenance of public buildings, parks, property, and streets, under and subject to the direction of the Highway Committee of Common Council. In the absence of a separately appointed or acting Water Superintendent, the Superintendent of Public Works shall be responsible for said duties without additional compensation or title.

H. 
Street Foreman, whose duties shall be to supervise the maintenance and repair of all municipal streets, avenues and terraces, under and subject to the direction of the Highway Committee of Common Council.
I. 
Heavy-Equipment Operator, whose duties shall be to operate heavy equipment owned or leased by the City in connection with the maintenance of municipal highways and, as necessary, in connection with the maintenance of the water and sewer systems and public properties, under the direction of the Street Foreman and of the Highway and Public Property Committees of Common Council.
J. 
Equipment Operator, whose duties shall be of the same general type as hereinabove provided for Heavy-Equipment Operator.
K. 
Laborer, whose duties shall be to perform such labor as shall be necessary in connection with any of the work of the city, subject to the direction of the appropriate committee of Common Council or its delegated representative, it being intended that Common Council may employ such number and class of laborers as it shall deem necessary for the proper execution of the work of the City in all departments.
L. 
Principal Clerk, whose duties shall be to maintain the records of the Utility Department, prepare, send out and receive payment of all utility bills and such other duties as may be prescribed by the Utility Committee of Common Council.
M. 
Building Maintenance Worker, whose duty it shall be to perform janitorial and similar services in and about the Philadelphia Avenue Fire House, the City Hall and such other municipal buildings as Common Council may direct.
N. 
Lifeguard, whose duty it shall be to see to the safety of users of the waters of the City Park Lake, subject to the direction of the Parks and Playground Committee of Common Council.[2]

O. 
Cemetery Caretaker, whose duty it shall be to maintain and care for the premises and equipment of the Egg Harbor City Cemetery, under and subject to the direction and supervision of the Board of Trustees of the Cemetery.
The compensation to be paid the persons occupying the foregoing positions and employments shall be in the amounts and payable at the times as provided in the Municipal Salary Ordinance in effect from time to time.[1]
