There shall be and is hereby established in the Township a Municipal Court, to be known as the "Municipal Court of Egg Harbor Township," as provided by the provisions of N.J.S.A. 2A:8-1 to 2A:8-41, and the amendments thereof and supplements thereto.
The territorial jurisdiction of the Court shall be the territory embraced within the limits of the Township, and the Court shall have jurisdiction of all of the offenses, matters and things, both civil and criminal, referred to and granted by N.J.S.A. 2A:8-1 et seq., as amended and supplemented and as otherwise now or hereafter provided by law.
The Court shall have a seal which shall bear the impression of the name of the court: "Municipal Court of Egg Harbor Township."
A. 
The Court shall have a Judge who shall be known as the “Municipal Judge.” He shall be a resident of the state and shall be an attorney at law or a person who has had actual experience as a justice of the peace or who is qualified under any rule of court. who shall be appointed by the Township Committee for the term of three years from the date of his appointment and until his successor is appointed and qualified and who shall be paid an annual salary fixed by ordinance of the Township Committee, which salary shall be in lieu of any and all other fees. Before entering upon the duties of his office, the Judge shall take and subscribe an oath of office pursuant to law. All costs and fees charged against defendants, all fines and penalties imposed and all other moneys collected by the Municipal Judge in pursuance of his office shall be paid and disposed of as provided by law. He shall not practice law in any Municipal Court in the county, nor upon appeals from such courts.
B. 
The Township Committee shall provide for the necessary accommodations and supplies for the Municipal Court.
