Pursuant to the Municipal Utilities Authorities
Law N.J.S.A. 40:14B-1 et seq., there is hereby created and established
a public body corporate and politic as an agency and instrumentality
of the Township, under the corporate name and title of the "Egg Harbor
Township Municipal Utilities Authority." The Municipal Utilities Authority
shall, within the territorial boundaries of the Township, have and
may exercise all of the powers provided for in the Municipal Utilities
Authorities Law, together with any other powers which may hereafter
be conferred upon municipal utilities authorities by law.
A.
The members of the Municipal Utilities Authority shall
be hereafter appointed by resolution of the Township Committee in
the manner provided in the Municipal Utilities Authorities Law, and
each member shall receive compensation for the services as such member
as provided by ordinance of the Township Committee.
B.
There shall be one alternate member of the Egg Harbor
Township Municipal Utilities Authority, and he shall be designated
as "Alternate No. 1." The alternate shall serve during the absence
or disqualification of any regular member or members in the order
of their numerical designation. The term of the alternate shall be
five years, commencing February 1 of the year of appointment. An alternate
member may participate in discussions of the proceedings, but may
not vote except in the absence or disqualification of a member. A
vote shall not be delayed in order that a regular member may vote
instead of an alternate member. The alternate shall be paid a salary
in the same way and manner as a regular member of the authority.
