The provisions of the New Jersey State Housing Code, a true copy of which is on file in the office of the City Clerk, are hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein, as constituting the standards to guide the appropriate officials of the City of North Wildwood in determining the fitness of a building for human habitation, use or occupancy.

The administrative authority provided in said code to administer the provisions thereof is the Director of Public Safety. The public officers provided for in said code shall be the Director of Public Safety, the Building Inspector, the Electrical Inspector, the Plumbing Inspector, the City Health Officer and the Housing Officer.

The Director of Public Safety, the Building Inspector, the City Electrical Inspector, the Plumbing Inspector, the City Health Officer and the Housing Officer shall all be guided in the exercise of the powers conferred upon them by law by the provisions of the New Jersey State Housing Code, and shall use the standards set forth therein to guide them in determining the fitness of a building for human habitation, use or occupancy.

Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any of the provisions of this chapter, including the provisions of the New Jersey State Housing Code, shall, upon conviction, be punished by a fine not to exceed $1,250 or by imprisonment in the county jail for a period not to exceed 90 days, or both, and each violation of any of the aforesaid provisions and each day the same is violated shall be deemed to be a separate and distinct offense.
