[Adopted 6-1-1987 by Ord. No. 87-14 (Sec. 3-13 of the Revised General Ordinances)]
No person shall serve, sell, dispense, drink or consume any alcoholic beverage in or upon any public or quasi-public place including, but not limited to, any public street, highway, avenue, alley or road of the township or upon any public grounds, park, sidewalk, mall, playground, public conveyance, parking facility or in any public building.
No person shall possess any alcoholic beverage with intent to violate § 36-9.

No person shall meet, assemble or congregate with any other person or persons with the purpose or intent of engaging in the illegal sale, illegal use or illegal possession of alcoholic beverages or controlled dangerous substances.

Nothing herein shall be construed to prohibit the possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages within or upon premises duly licensed for the consumption of alcoholic beverages, the possession of beer in pitchers or other unsealed containers as may be lawfully sold by licensed premises while in transit to a lawful place for consumption, nor to prohibit the possession, distribution or consumption of alcoholic beverages in any public building in connection with any organized function or social affair for which express prior permission has been received, in writing, from the Chief of Police, upon prior notice and subject to any terms and restrictions relating to the public safety and the general welfare of the township, which may have been imposed upon such permission by the Director.
Persons found to be in violation of the provisions of this article shall be subject to the general penalty as provided in Chapter 1, General Provisions, Article II, Penalty, § 1-3.
